Nozzle Filling Compound
It is a granular material which is specifically used to prevent skulling and freezing of steel. The material is developed in such a way with particular particle size so that it remains flowable at extremely high temperature.
EBT Filling Mass
This refractory material is used in electric arc furnace. This does not sinter under steel making temperatures and hence remains highly flowable at high temperatures, thus gets out freely ensuring a uniform stream of hot liquid.
Casting Powder
It contains low melting constituents which instantly generate liquid slag which penetrates into the gap between the mould. Casting Powder is added in small amounts and continuously over the casting duration. Hence, the top surface of the liquid metal in the billet/slab always remains protected from the atmosphere.
Ladle & Tundish Covering Compound
Ladle and tundish covering compound are usually added to the ladle surface just before it leaves the secondary refining station to make its way to the continuous casting machine in the tundish. In the case of the tundish, it should be continually maintained to provide a black cover throughout the casting process.
Rice Husk
The husk is first burnt in an open environment. The ash produced at this stage is black. Cooling is also done in an open environment for 24 hours, than amorphous rice husk ash is produced.
Ladle Board
The ladle board is used in carrying out of metallurgical reactions, practically in all steel making shops because it is cost efficient to operate the primary furnace as a high speed melter and to adjust the final chemical composition and temperature of the steel after tapping.
Radex Insulation Powder
Radex insulation powder is widely utilized in steel plants. It is also used in tundish or ladle to help prevent heat loss due to its free flowing properties. Further, it ensures smooth casting operation, and it also makes the ladle durable.
